Hurricane Matthew is about to give Privert an excuse to cancel the train wreck scheduled for October 9.

The CEP is not ready for anything.

It is like an  unplanned funeral.

No one has reserved the church.

No one has contacted the priest.

No one has told the relatives and friends.

The funeral is in Port-au-Prince.

The body is still in Bombardopolis.

And the International Media is scheduled to be at the funeral.

International Observers have flown in to certify the guy is dead and properly buried.

Obviously, an impossible situation.

Sadly, the Haitian situation is much more serious and people will die!

A few Haitians have generated a scenario that guarantees disaster – perhaps worse.

The October 2105 election had a few problems. All elections have problems. However, they were probably the best Haiti has experienced since the Blan’s attempt to force Democracy upon a nation whose citizens have a problem spelling the word, let alone understanding this complex philosophy.

Sad to say, but Haiti was much more Democratic under Jean Claude Duvalier. But, that is the past and we must deal with our fragmented future as Privert attempts to force a Lavalas government on an electorate that totally rejected the Aristide/Lavalas team last October, 2015.

Lavalas polled 7% in the Presidential Count.

Jovenel Moise is said to have generated something like 58% but Martelly didn’t have the resolve to have the CEP state the truth, believing the second round would confirm Jovenel.

It wasn’t much of a choice; A successful businessman who hasn’t stolen anything, been involved in drugs, or killed anyone, against someone who is skilled in all three areas – Jude Celestin.

This misjudgment simply allowed Celestin, Privert and other opposition people – who could not win the vote – another chance at the prize. They could manipulate the game to guarantee their success – they believed.

Like a magician’s “misdirection” people’s attention was focused elsewhere – a year ago – when Privert started to maneuver so that he would take power by forcing Martelly’s hand.  He disrupted Parliament, so the Constitutional vote could not be completed in time, forcing Martelly out of office without naming a replacement.

Privert blocked the Article 136 concept, used by Rene Preval, so Martelly could remain in office until his replacement was named.

Privert then blocked the Article 149 concept, in which a Justice takes over for a maximum of 90 days to complete elections.

Had this solution been followed, as it well may be, within the next few days, we would not be where we are now.

The Honorable Windelle Coq Thelot, Juge a la cour de Cassation, may well be called upon to save the Nation. She has been vetted by decision-makers in Washington, during her recent visit there.

Privert and CEP chief Berlanger should be arrested.

Privert has made no secret of his goal. He pledged to install a Lavalas government. He didn’t mention letting  the people decide. He pledged a Lavalas government and then set out to make this happen.

First step was the creation of an unconstitutional Commission of Verification, filled with receptive members who either had Lavalas leanings, or fell to the lure of $$$.

Francois Benoit – yet again – prostituted his ill-deserved reputation as an honest guy. He worked to deliver Haiti to Aristide, even as members of his commission had secret meetings – with Aristide – at his Tabarre residence, often at 2 or 3 A.M.

Aristide was the epitome of reason.

Aristide  insisted on only one thing.

THE REMOVAL OF JOVENEL MOISE FROM THE ELECTORAL PROCESS EVEN THOUGH JOVENEL COMMANDS A 76% POPULARITY.

THAT IS ARISTIDE/LAVALAS DEMOCRACY!!

And, we have seen moves toward this end result. False rumors of money laundering, drug dealing, criminal financial transactions, have been generated.

Throw enough mud and some will stick.

RENE PREVAL HAS WORKED HIS MAGIC AND NOW HIDES IN MIAMI FOR AN ALIBI.

Aristide has mounted a very expensive, extensive propaganda campaign outside of Haiti, hammering on the old lies to the effect that Lavalas is the most popular/powerful political group in Haiti, but has been barred from past elections.

This, of course, is not true.

Lavalas voluntarily stayed off the ballot because they knew they could not win anything.

Some cynics suggest Maxine Waters has made millions from her vocal, often foolish support of Aristide and his criminal acts. Other American political figures are in the same basket. That is why Aristide survives, outside of prison. He has dossiers on dozens!

One must wonder at the bias of Associate Press. It’s Haitian representative writes like someone who has guzzled at Aristide’s trough. Otherwise we must simply accept the fact he has absolutely no contact with the Haitian Reality, and shouldn’t be here, in the first place.

The recent AP articles have been tremendously damaging to our present situation. They present Aristide as Haiti’s Hope. Since most areas, in the world, do not have any representation in Haiti, they buy AP articles for their Haitian coverage. The last AP article has done the cause of Haitian Democracy irreparable damage and actually prepares the outside world for an Aristide/Lavalas victory – even though this does not reflect the local reality.

Reality – and Perceived Reality are rarely the same. That is what Propaganda is for, bending one to seem like the other.

We can remember Michael Norton, AP representative during the 1991 – 1994 Embargo Period. He was married to Toto Bissainthe, a Lavalas Militant. Michael was owned by Aristide/Preval.

There are Articles in Haiti’s Penal Code that some suggest could be used on the AP guy.

Time for some Responsibility of the Press, a factor that does not exist in Haiti where only the price is negotiated.

Privert has purchased the Haitian Media. Most leading journalists have been given highly paid jobs in the government. Anthony Barbier is his Chief of Cabinet. Barbier is married to Lilianne Pierre-Paul who runs a   Lavalas oriented radio station, given to her by Aristide.

We must take the breathing  space, allowed by Hurricane Matthew, to stop and smell the roses.

Set the odometer back to zero.

Remove Privert and replace him with a Justice from the Court of Cassation with a specific mandate to complete elections within 90 days.

Remove Leopold Berlanger, perhaps arrest him and the other members of the CEP, and create a new one. Why not place ex-CEP chief Emmanuel Menard in control? Then we will not have to reinvent the wheel.

Just make him sign a pledge not to drink anything for 90 days.

Haiti’s slide towards the Abyss must be stopped.

Perhaps it is already too late, but we must try.

Aristide should be removed from the equation, once and for all. The so-called Friends of Haiti should unseal the indictments, held in Miami,  that cover Aristide’s part in the massive cocaine traffic.

Aristide was allowed back in Haiti with his promise to remain out of politics, and focus on education. As with his previous promises, this was not kept.  His word is worth less than Zero!

The Clinton Team has protected Aristide for years as they siphoned off tens of millions from Haiti’s treasury.

It Trump wins Aristide is toast.

Haiti deserve a little luck, but it is up to Haitians to make this luck.

No one is going to help them.

Our future starts tomorrow.
