WITH THE FLICK OF A KEYBOARD AP – YET AGAIN – ALTERS REALITY: Haiti police probe death of 7 in shanty shootout-Added COMMENTARY By Haitian-Truth

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti – Haitian detectives are trying to figure out what led to the fatal shootings of seven people in one of the Caribbean nation’s biggest shanties.

Haitian national police spokesman Frantz Lerebours said Monday that the people were killed Friday night and Saturday morning in a shootout between rival gangs in the seaside shantytown of Cite Soleil. Three others were taken to a hospital where they were treated for bullet wounds.

Lerebours said he didn’t know if the people who were killed or injured were gang members.

Gang violence in the slums of Haiti’s capital used to be commonplace but has become less noticeable since the devastating earthquake in 2010.

Associated Press has long been an example of biased and faulty reporting. During Aristide’s presidency Michael Norton was paid by the government and was married to one of Aristide’s most fervent supporters.

Now, Haiti sees a major outbreak of violence in which dozens of people were killed, including a pregnant woman, and old man going for water, a small child, and two people on a motorcycle taxi. Some reported a figure of 60 dead, plus injured. Another report saw 47 killed with many injured.

The Martelly team attempts to minimize their failure in the security area by reporting a handful of dead.

Aristide apologist Amy Wilenze used the simple computer keyboard to change history. With a couple of keystrokes she could change a crowd of 2000 to 200,000 wild supporters of Aristide.

There is no one to prod AP and the Martelly government into honesty so the world will continue to see Haiti through distorted glasses.
