Haiti is in its present disastrous situation because of America’s missteps since the removal of Duvalier in 1986. It has always been susceptible to the pressures of groups whose agenda is out of step with the true needs of Haiti’s millions.
Support for Aristide and his Liberation Theology crazies who knew absolutely nothing about governance. Aristide supposedly got 67% of the 367,000 votes cast in 1990, from a voter base of 3,500,000.
The ballots were never counted and many remained in sealed boxes after his departure to exile in September, 1991.
Destruction of Haiti’s army, the FadH, the one real element for national stability, after promising to retrain and reequip it to act as countervailing force against Aristide’s predictable grab for power, in 1994, was Aristide’s decision.
Aristide had dictatorial control until 2004.
American forced Privatization of Haiti’s key elements that supplied 67% of Duvalier’s budget and now enrich a few greedy friends and relations of Rene Preval.

The Americans finally recognized Aristide’s true danger and enlisted Guy Philippe to remove him.
Then they betrayed Guy Philippe by convicting him with false charges of money laundering when, in fact, the funds transferred by SOGEBANK resulted from the sale of property in Pestel to buy a condo for Guy’s wife Natalie in the States. The funds came from land was given to Guy by his father. Guy was going to fight the charges until the American authority said it would arrest his wife Natalie if he didn’t plead guilty.
So much for American justice!
We now have Guy Philippe back in Haiti as the massive, unrecognized, starving millions move towards a popular uprising against their collective misery.
THIS MASSIVE HAITIAN MAJORITY COULD EXPLODE AROUND THE JANUARY 1 INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION.
THEY LOOK TO GUY PHILIPPE FOR THEIR SALVATION.
In the meantime, the United States has avoided its responsibility by begging and bribing the Kenyan authority to send police to Haiti.
The Kenyan fiasco is doomed from its outset, just as the UN occupation was doomed.. A total disconnect from reality.
