LifePaths Global Alliance operates a free medical clinic in rural Haiti, which is still dealing with the blow the earthquake dealt the country more than three years ago. Now, this nonprofit is trying to raise C$20,000 in less than 72 hours on Indiegogo to keep telemedicine at the clinic, transforming care in a country where travel to a larger city, such as Port-au-Prince, can be a major, or even impossible, obstacle.

According to the statement:

The telemedicine clinic is operated under the direction of LifePaths Medical Director, Dr. Joseph Prosper (Dr. Joey), M.D.Dr. Joey and LifePaths hired and trained a network of local health care workers to assist in the clinic. Our efforts are improving and saving lives as well as providing employment opportunities for local residents who are part of our medical agent team.

The operating costs ofour telemedicine clinic include the salary expenses of Dr. Joey and his three telemedicine assistants, reliable internet (which is difficult to come by in Haiti), medications, rent, hydro and water and our maintenance staff expenses.
