11 AM in Haiti and Lavalas militants converging on St Jean Bosco to march against Haitian society. All evening, and into the small hours of this morning, Aristide’s RADIO TI MOUN urged Lavalas militants to converge of St Jean Bosco to pillage and kill. The radio urged supporters to bring tire – suggesting Aristide’s revival of Pere Lebrun, the gasoline soaked tire, draped around a victim’s neck – then lit with a wooden match.
TI MOUN said it had worked “with the Montana” referring to the time MINUSTAH gave Preval the victory when his militants took over the MONTANA HOTEL and threatened to burn Port-au-Prince if Preval was denied the Presidency.
This trouble was predicted by us, November 17, when senior PNH officers gathered to agree upon non-action in the face of Lavalas violence.
Well now, the mob is gathering at St. Jean Bosco and the PNH sent to handle the problem have disappeared.
There is no senior PNH officer from, let’s say, the DDO, to order action.
The next few days may see a lot of violence.
Last night, a number of buildings were torched, along with a marche.
The TI MOUN people have promised to attack MINUSTAH’s Honore, CEP Leopold Berlanger, the Canadian Ambassador and a few others.
