Representatives of several political groups demonstrated in front of MINUSTAH headquarters.
The were complaining about MINUSTAH interference in Haitian life.
The group was demanding reparations for the Cholera epidemic MINUSTAH brought to Haiti some years ago. Cholera still claims the lives of Haitians and has seen a resurgence over the past few weeks as rainy weather prevails.
The Haitian election of October 25 will be another test for MINUSTAH.
August 9 was notable for MINUSTAH’s invisibility, followed by the stupid comments, by the MINUSTAH chief Madame Honore who claimed that 5% turn out fiasco was 99.9% OK.
She would later change her tune, as did American ambassador Pamela White.
The October 25th election is still in doubt as opposition groups call for cancellation of the vote and appointment of a Transitional Government.
