Martelly already being isolated from respected people who could help him form a real government. Gervais Charles and Jean-Henri Ceant were in daily contact, but their communications are now filtered by members of Martelly’s inner circle. These groupies are more interested in the cash possibilities, rather than the survival of the Nation.
Because of this, instead of calling the Preval/Martelly situation a “transition” it is seen more as a “transaction”
Quality people are refusing offers to serve on Martelly’s cabinet. Because of this it will be third class with inner circle interfering at every step. The first government might last three months before Preval’s people use a no-confidence vote to dump it.
Martelly has a small window of opportunity to set a positive tone for his Presidency. Unfortunately the rails are greased before he even gets to office.
