PORT-AU-PRINCE, HAITI–(Marketwired – Nov. 20, 2013) – The Ministry of the Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Rural Development for the Republic of Haiti publicized its cooperation and support to Agence Haitien de Développement Social, Educatif et Environnementale (AHDSEE), an NGO member to ECCO2 Global Partners for the memorandum of understanding to establish the ECCO2 Haiti Civil Society Organization, which shall further program development and financial aid in Haiti for education, job creation, climate change, and export trade of agricultural goods.

Haiti Senate Commission of Foreign Affairs initially approved the MOU for ECCO2 Haiti Programme in November 2012 by and between ECCO2 Corp, Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Study, and Concile Mondial de Congres Diplomatiques des Aumoniers pour la Paix Universelle des Droits Humains et Juridiques (CMOCDAPUNDHJ), who are international member organization partners to the United Nations. Despite ECCO2 Haiti Program operations getting off to a slow start, almost a year later the memorandum of understanding was amended and had been approved by the Haiti Ministry of Planification, which was signed by Haiti Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe and AHDSEE.

Our Agency with the partners at ECCO2 will create job opportunities and migration to Haitians through various solutions for sustainable social and economic development. This will include providing assistance to supply chains of textiles and agricultural goods, which are a major part of the nation’s gross domestic product that will be exported through global partnerships in Free Trading Posts.”

The ECCO2 Haiti Program with provide loan guarantees and grants from private sponsors of the Global Banking Community and ECCO2 Global Partners to support local private sectors and NGOs to create job opportunities and migration for Haitian workers through various solutions for sustainable social and economic development in Haiti. This will include providing assistance to supply chains of textiles and agricultural goods, which are a major part of the nation’s gross domestic product that will be exported through the global partnerships in Free Trading Zones (also known as an entrepôt), such as the recent partnership between Jamaica government and ECCO2 Jamaica. ECCO2 Haiti will also bring awareness to climate change and education for a better quality of life for the Haitian’s contribution to Post-2015 Millennium Development Goals of the United Nations.
