SANTO DOMINGO. – President Leonel Fernandez will go to Haiti to attend Haiti president elect Michel Martelly’s inaugural on May 14, that country’s incoming chief executive said.

Haiti’s elected leader made the announcement after meeting with Fernandez in the National Palace Wednesday, and called his visit to the Dominican leader a courtesy and to strengthen bilateral relations.

Without providing details, Martelly added that Haiti-Dominican relations, border and immigration topics were also discussed.
