Haiti - Sport : Digicel Foundation is committing for 3 years to the FLADH

The Digicel Foundation, once again, is helping to strengthen communities in Haiti, announcing a new partnership with the Fondation l’Athlétique d’Haïti (FLADH). Valued at more than 10 million gourdes and over a period of 3 years, this funding is part of the community projects of the Digicel Foundation whose main objective is to support reliable local organizations’ efforts in aiming to support the development of the Haitian population.

The Digicel Foundation and FLADH have already collaborated in 2011 on a drainage project to conserve the athletic center’s fields and facility. With this grant, FLADH will be able to continue and enhance its various activities covering its activities in sport, the environment, and education.

When signing this new contract, the Executive Director of the Digicel Foundation said “At the Digicel Foundation, we were favorably impressed by the excellent work of the Fondation l’Athlétique d’Haïti” (FLADH), we had the chance to work with Mr. Duval in the past and the collaboration was fruitful. “We are very happy to work with FLADH again and we are especially excited about the positive change that our grant will bring to the lives of the 2,000 young people attending the Athletic Foundation of Haiti.”

“As we approach our 20th anniversary, which we will be celebrating in 2015, this grant come in just at the right moment, as it will allow us to continue to make a real difference in the lives of thousands of children. Since our creation in 1995, we won the bet of moving away thousands of young people from armed groups in Cité Soleil by integrating them in our various sport and education programs. Thanks to the collaboration of partners such as the Digicel Foundation, we are firmly committed to continue to lead this struggle to provide a better future to the Haitian youth,” commented Robert Duval, founder of the FLADH.
