The Arcade Fire guitarist blogs about their time in Haiti…

Arcade Fire’s guitarist Will Butler posted some blogs about the group’s trip to Haiti, which was hit by an earthquake in January of 2010.

He wrote about their travels throughout the country and the poor conditions they saw. He also mentions a surprise acoustic show they played outside a clinic in Camp Dadadou on the island’s capital city Port Au Prince. He said they came across a “biohazard medical wastebasket,” which they used as a drum before realizing what it was. They also performed at the Hotel Oloffso.

Arcade Fire has been raising money for Haiti during their tours in 2010 and 2011. They have collected over $1 million so far for the earthquake effort.
