The justice system plans to call Aristide and Preval for questioning on their known involvement in the assassination of Jacques Dominique, during the criminal 2000 election campaign in which Aristide, yet again, stole the ballot and CEP Chairman Manus was forced to seek exile in the United States, as Aristide Death Squads searched for him.
The Manus crime was his refusal to validate criminally flawed election results.
The Dominique case is one that should be pursued, however, there is a crime that deserves priority before Justice.
During the period February 9 – 10, 2004, President Jean-Bertrand Aristide sent his helicopter against the people of La Scierie in a deadly airborne attack, in support of armed terrorists, on the ground. His helicopter was flown by Frantz Gabriel and each flight required Aristide’s personal authorization. Each flight was initialed by Aristide, in the helicopter’s log books.
Gabriel flew the helicopter in low level attacks, as Aristide killers, armed with machine guns, cut down men, women and children as they ran to escape Death.
Many failed in their efforts.
Aristide Prime Minister, Yvon Neptune, and Interior Minister, Jocelerm Privert personally coordinated the action for President Aristide. They were arrested, and held, but were never brought to trial because on unstable conditions and the lack of a democratically elected government .
When Preval took power, all thought of legal action disappeared.
We now have President Michel Martelly seeking justice for his people. He should take action over the La Scierie Massacre.
He should also investigate the time when Frantz Gabriel flew his helicopter near Belladere when Aristide killers tossed 2 Haitian politicians out the door at 2000 feet.
Their screams still echo in those who witnessed their long fall to a terrible death on the rocks below.
Perhaps we can now revisit these crimes and bring those to justice and, by doing so, prevent the return to power of Aristide and his Lavalas/Lespoir/Inite killers.
