16:30 Hours- Cap Haitien Awaits Hurricane

NO LIFE RAFT FOR HAITI, IT SEEMS

Storm expected earlier today is now expected to pass later this evening with wind speeds of 120 miles per hour. Center expected to pass just north of Tortuga. Heavy rains will create potentially dangerous flooding and mud slide conditions.

Napalese and Chilean MINUSTAH troops stationed here are disinterested in doing anything in good weather, other than holidaying at Labadee or in the Dominican Republic. Bad weather will see them stay indoors watching satellite TV and drinking beer.

We are beside the harbor watching the sea react to the hurricane. By midnight, this area will be under water. The people await what nature has in store for them with a stoic attitude.

We are in a land that God seems to have forgotten.

Haiti deserves better.
