Haiti - Education : 154,000 Haitian students have graduated in Cuba

Members of the Association of Haitian professionals trained in Cuba “AsociaciĆ³n de los Profesionales haitianos formados in Cuba” (APHFC) delivered to the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples “Instituto Cubano de Amistad con los Pueblos” (ICAP) a plaque of honor and merit, dedicated to the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, for providing thousands of them professional training in his country.

This plate highlights the traditional brotherhood between the two nations of the Caribbean and express the gratitude of the Haitian people, to the Cuban people in their continued acts of solidarity.

Representatives of the APHFC, also also presented a plaque to the office responsible for the support of students of the Department of International Relations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, led by Roberto Gonzalez, for the care and support provided to them during their school years.

Elio Gamez, Vice President of the ICAP, expressed the pride of Cuban leaders, for the Haitian students who took advantage of opportunities, to become professionals at the service of their country.

At present, about 400 Haitians continue their studies in Cuba and since 1961, more than 50 years later, 154.000 Haitian students have graduated in the territory of this Friendly nation.
