United States Navy Hospital ShipComfort Will Provide Free Medical Care in Port-au-Prince, September 11-18   As part of the our continuing assistance to the Haitian people, the U.S. Embassy of Port-au-Prince is pleased to announce the arrival of the U.S. Navy Hospital Ship Comfort in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health and Population.  TheComfort’s 2014-2015 exercise, entitled Continuing Promise, serves as another example of the United States government’s deep commitment to the people of Haiti, particularly in Haitian healthcare.   Free medical care will be provided in Port-au-Prince at Killick Coast Guard Base and St. Luc Hospital starting on September 11 at 8:00am and continuing until September 18.  Each day, patients will be seen on a first-come, first-serve basis until capacity is reached.  Medical care will include general, pediatric, dental, ophthalmological, orthopedic, and others.  Support teams from theComfort will also be assisting Haitian partners with veterinarian services, engineering projects, and medical exchanges.
