He called on all the striking employees concerned to resume without delay the services to the population and to invite all those interested in the matter to follow the legal channels in order to determine the responsibilities of each one with regard to this unfortunate incident “We demand that the employees resume their activities, because this case does not fall within the scope of the DIE but of justice. We are going to do everything that has to be done legally, so that you do not continue to penalize the taxpayers who come to get their passports…”

Let’s recall that as part of the fight against corruption, which undermines the DIE, the Central Directorate of Judicial Police (DCPJ) arrested during an operation conducted last week, together with the authorities of migration, 3 people including Marie Violette Bijoux, a DIE employee, resumed Tuesday Chief Inspector Garry Desrosiers, Deputy Spokesman of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) adding “At Mrs. Bijoux house, was seized 47 passports and passports claims sheets,” stating that Mrs. Bijoux is suspected to have been paid to issue passports at 10,000 Gourdes each…

Bijoux, who works at the EID since 2004, acknowledges that she should not have in her possession in her house these 47 cards, but she claims her innocence, categorically denying involvement in the acts of corruption that are reproached to her.
