SANTO DOMINGO.- Public Health Minister Bautista Rojas promised to disclose the results of the studies to be conducted on salamis, just one day after the Haitian Government announced a ban on its import from Dominican Republic.
He said the analyses will be according to global standards.
The official revealed that a committee was designated to ensure the product’s quality and the support from the Pan American Health and Nutrition Institute.
Rojas added that the country’s sausage makers have been convened to learn of the purpose and scope of the study that seeks to determine the quality of locally produced and consumed salami.

The row that began with the revelation that fecal coliform was found in samples of salami unleashed a scandal and led to Haiti’s ban on the sausage and has prompted the visit of Haitian lawmakers and business leaders to several meat processing plants nationwide.
The Haitian delegation visited the facilities of the Induveca meat processing company, in central La Vega, to see firsthand how salamis and other sausages are made.
You know, I am glad I don’t occupy any govermental position in the Haitian goverment. Haitians who are supposedly leaders, well educated, technicians, autocrats, elites who sit around all day saying: Je suis, Je suis, je suis are nothing but self-absorbing, pretentious, demagogues-idiots.
If the Dominican’s economy is trhiving to some extent is due to the drastic measures they undertake which openned up the tourism industry. Tourisim alone could not have propelled the their economy to the level that it is today.
The main engine behind the Dominican’s economic success is purely the ten millions of Haitians consumers who consummed every left-over F…king piece of garbage their factory workers produced and the Dominican people no longer wanted.
You see, Haitians in Haiti produce nothing but a bunch wholigans, thieves, destitute individuals who claim that they are working for the country, instead they are selling every piece of Haitian
resources, artifacts, history to foreigners including Dominicans.
If previous Haitians leaders like: preval-Aristide Aristide-Preval din’t have their heads shoved far between their asses; they could have taken drastic economic measures in the past twenty years to make the Haitian commerce better than what it is today.
As a Haitian born American citizen, I refused to set foot on the Dominican soil because of all the injustices they are doing against the Haitians. When I talked, people says: there are no Haitians patriots, I said bring it on, I will show you who a true haitian Patriot is. Though, politics has its ugly sides, one never-says-never; I will do my very best to never set foot on the Dominican soil.
The Southenners in the United States has a say that goes like this:”A way to a man’s heart is through his belly”. I guest the Dominicans got us right by our belly, when ever we cry fawl; they stop feeding us.
Lou
Dear Louis Senatus,
I am not an Haitian but love the country as much. I totally agree with you. I see Politicians, Rich people and US as the reason behind the current situation in Haiti. Dominican Republic is just exploiting the situation. Just my opinion. Haiti has everything it needs to become a flourished nation. I hope it does one day. I will be the happiest that day.
I agree with you 100% as well. Haiti has struggled for decades. It lacks a government that has its people best interest at hand. While they are busy being greedy and perpetuating a fraud, Haitians continue to be victimized. Enough is enough!
