THE FORCES ARMEES D’HAITI WILL BE REVIVED BY THE MARTELLY GOVERNMENT AND FORMER CEDRAS SECURITY CHIEF ROMEO HALLOUN WILL PLAY A KEY ROLL.

September 1, 2011

President Martelly has named a number of former military people to coordinate the revival of Haiti’s Forces Armees d’Haiti, illegally disbanded by President Jean-Bertrand Aristide in 1994 when he was returned to power. It has remained as a legal entity, protected by the Haitian Constitution, but has effectively been non-existent.

This is about to change with possible assistance from the American, French and Canadian governments, plus some others from the OAS.

Romeo Halloun, an former-American soldier, is a key to the revival. From 1991- 1994 he acted as General Raoul Cedras’ security chief and personally created a special strike force known as the Ninjas.

  1. Good news. Military service should be mandatory for all haitians 18 to 99.

  2. Good news. Now the US can regain direct control of Haiti like the good old days. As the US will directly control the Haitian Army, there will be no need for the UN occupation forces whose only function was, and is, to keep the havenots down and keep the haves in provided they let the US do whatever they want. Yep, it is back to the glory days of a wonderful, caring, friendly Haitian Army ever ready to assist the democratic aspirations of the Haitian people . With Cédras people running the show, you know the future of a prosperous, democratic Haiti is ahead of us. Haiti will soon be the Caribbean Scandinavia thanks to the long overdue reintroduction of the Forces Armées d’Haïti.

  3. Unfortunately for Haitians Cedras and his team were the really killers of our militarys. He was Aristide’s friend and his wife worked for Aristide and his brother in law was Aristide Interior Ministre. Little surprises he was made cheif when General Abraham was revoked. It was a charade and saw Aristide.

    Regala would be different.

  4. Finally some great news. I hope they are well trained and well armed. They need good disciplined men and women, and patriotic too. They should be well fed and everyhaitian should serve as a civil duty starting at age 16-36. After 36 its your choice. This will allow us to raise a patriot society that follow and respect the law and government.

  5. Oh boy, It looks like the former slavers were right. The black man has no capacity to think for himself…”

Revise the Army? Oh, the one that, as an agent of various “hater” governments (pick one)killed. repressed, killed (oh, did I mention that one?)and protected the privileged elite to the detriment of the other 99% of Haitians?

Great move. Started off with a bang(The first liberated slave colony)and ending with a drizzle of piss on all of us.

    1. UCHE- Don’t grovel so much- Most of us have pride, and the fact that we have scum like MINUSTAH is a direct result of the fact that we have no military.
