Haiti - USA : Strengthening the capacity of women mayors in Haiti

The Embassy of the United States in Port-au-Prince and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID – Haiti) have mutually financed the project “Fanm Majistra nan No Ini pou Devlopman Komin yo” that aims to reinforce elected women’s capacity to work collaboratively with their male counterparts to bring about important changes to their constituents.

40 Mayors from the Northern Department, the Northeast communes of Caracol and Ouanaminthe, Mayor Darlene Joseph from Carrefour, Senator Dieudonne Etienne Luma, Ambassador Danielle St. Lot, Minustah-Genre’s Representative from the North, several USAID D&G staff, M. Stephen Snook, Chief of Party for USAID-LOKAL+, Marco Georges from the Chambre de Commerce, d’Industrie et des Professions du Nord were present.
