Two weeks ago Edmund Mulet, the UN Secretary General’s Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH)…stated that the Preval government must create a new and unbiased CEP – Electoral Council- if Haiti was to have a really free-and-fair-election. He was specific and unequivocal in his comments.
There must be a new, unbiased CEP – Provisional Electoral Council – to make the elective process and effective and balanced one.
Times change!
Edmund Mulet now says the election will proceed with the existing CEP.
What led to this unbelievable change?
Money talks and Preval has the treasury to back whatever he wishes for.
President Rene Garcia Preval has held some very frightening meetings lately, planning violence, kidnapping and possibly murder. There is one new and effective balancing factor involved. Someone he trusts totally, has negotiated an immunity deal involving a number of major legal problems facing this person. In return he has recorded a number of meetings in which Preval has planned illegal actions.
Michele Montas, the wife of assassinated journalist Jean Dominique, and mistress of Preval, has been used as the go-between with Edmund Mulet. Observers must remember that Mulet was a major supporter of Preval immediately after MINUSTAH stole the 2006 presidential elections for Preval.
Mulet’s change of heart is a simple, and understandable one. There are financial implications. He has received his “pieces of silver” to betray the Haitian people. Montas was the intermediary.
In return, Preval has made certain promises that will see the MUINUSTAH/UN teams remaining, and growing over the coming months/years.
There can be no elections without a completely new, independent Electoral Council. This one cannot have a Preval first cousin as chairman…or his mistress (Cherubin) as has been the case in the past.
Denials on Mulet’s part won’t cut it. Let’s have a simple polygraph test with one question. “Have you received funds in excess of $100,000 US from President Preval or any of his associates in a manner that could be considered a crime within the American legal system?”
The UN is not in Haiti to help Haiti or Haitians.
The is an economic game, with the UN making billions from being there. Each nation receives a huge amount for each soldier involved…..multiples of the actual wages. This is a money-making game and screw the Haitians.
Haitians aren’t even in the game.
We had safety with 7,000 FAdH members. Our militaire was sufficient to maintain order. Why we now need 20,000 UN soldiers/police to do the same thing less efficiently??

Aba Preval
Annibi was not much, but he was better than Edmund Mulet who showed great favoritism for Preval during his first tour as MINUSTAH Chef. His actions were suspect by many persons as he made decisions without sense that favoured President Preval.
Now he returned for a second match and already shown the UN’s favouritism for Preval. After all, Michele Montas convinced Secretary General UN that “Preval was Haiti’s only hope…”
If this was true Haiti has no hope.
Haiti is being raped and robbed by Preval while UN holds Haiti down.
