In a note the Directorate General of Electricity of Haiti (EDH) deplores the acts of sabotage on the night of December 17 on the power grid of Arcahaie, where medium voltage cables also supplying the town of Cabaret were destroyed, what caused a major power outage in the town of Cabaret, the city of Arcahaie and nearby cities.
These regrettable acts, occur when the EDH envisages an increase of 1.8 Megawatts to the Thermal Power Plant in Arcahaie. The Company wishes to inform the general public and clients in particular, that these dishonest actions, delay the fulfillment of its Action Plan, which aims to increase the power of ub-stations and power plants, as well as their rehabilitation and modernization for the benefit of the entire population.
The EDH warns all saboteurs who risk their lives and the lives of the people each time they act that way. The EDH declines any responsibility for accidents that may occur in result of these thoughtless acts and directed in a specific purpose : Prevent network expansion and development.
Directorate General of the EDH takes this opportunity to remind people the words of the President of the Republic : “It is not by destroying, that we will succeed on the path of development as expected”, while reiterating its determination to work hard to serve all. It now asks to the Haitian population to accompany the EDH in its fight against acts of sabotage, which prevent it from achieving its objectives and serve the population as it would do.
The EDH would like to thank the local authorities, who have mobilized the same day to accompany it to take steps to remedy the situation quickly and prevent such acts in the future.
