PRIORITIES SEE MARTELLY PAYING MILLIONS TO SENATORS AND DEPUTIES IN EFFORT TO GET LAURENT LAMOTHE ACCEPTED AS PRIME MINISTER

March 28, 2012

With many things requiring a financial input, the Martelly team is focused on paying millions to Senators and Deputies  to guarantee Laurent Lamothe’s acceptance as Prime Minister even though he does not meet the Constitutional residency requirements. The Constitution demands 5 years continuous residence immediately prior to taking office.

We believe that the residency requirement is unfair and needlessly blocks participation by  the diaspora. In earlier governments, this was not a factor. For instance, Claudette Werleigh, Aristide’s prime minister, was an American citizen. He paid a bonus of $25,000 per vote for her acceptance.

The nation is paralyzed by the fools in Parliament, as the country hangs on the edge of total disaster even as about 25 of those sitting in Parliament are of dual citizenship, of have been convicted of a criminal offense. Some are guilty of both failings. Either should bar the individual from being a candidate, let alone being elected..

  1. Things remain the same.

Offices are left without money to do government business while the cash is stolen or paid to corrupt politicians to obtain their votes
