A video from a Senator’s cell phone illustrates the level to which our elected representatives have fallen. No longer does anyone (if they ever did) think about what they can do for the Nation, and those who elected them.
One guy is shouting at Youri Latortue… “You’ve already got ONA…” and then the battle focuses upon control of APN, both capable of generating millions in cash, for whomever might control these State organizations. Of course Douane, Education and a few others also take center stage in the combat over cash centers.
ONA should be a guarantee for the Nation’s future. Instead it allows the legal theft of huge sums – the basis for flaky loans not due for 30 years – that effectively destroy any chance of pensions being paid in the future.
Senators and Deputies get mortgages, often at highly inflated valuations, only to have paperwork disappear after the funds have been paid out. No record remains.
Recently a 300,000,000 gourde transaction was initiated.
Each day an Aristide Senator carries a bag of cash from ONA to Aristide.
Youri hopes to divert the hose into his own pockets!
The Education Ministry is an ongoing recipient of fortunes sent by foreign governments, and organizations. These fortunes should guarantee a good education for our children.
Unfortunately, since Duvalier’s departure, in 1986, the quality of education has entered a continuous downward slide to the point where children no longer have any hope of any sort of basic education.
Under Duvalier our Literacy Rate followed and steady upward path. Since he departed, the slide has been downward, like an airliner out of control. This airliner carries our kid’s Hopes and the Nations Future.
No one focuses on the basics, which will give a kid access to any and all knowledge – READING, WRITING AND ARITHMETIC.
Watch for the shadowy control behind our new Eduction Minister. As the American often say – “Follow the cash.”
Our elected, and appointed representatives focus upon stealing as much as possible, from the millions poured into our Education Ministry. They used to be sneaky about it – thinking up new ways to rape our childrens’ future. Now they just arrive and carry off their cash – no credit – no cheques.
The International Community is becoming totally disenchanted by the progress of Democracy in Haiti which will destroy the Nation, if allowed to progress along its present course.
Everyone hoped for President Jovenel Moise’s success but this possibility becomes less and less likely as areas of his possible control are continuously reduced by the rush for cash.
Parliament will soon have divided the spoils, leaving nothing for the Government.
Nothing for the people.
The Nation is sliding towards an “event” that will explode onto the scene. The melt-down will be a violent one. Once started the explosion will be impossible to contain. Many will die.
Aristide may well gain control of the game, via surrogates.
He has the money and the patience.
