If he didn’t have the common sense to remain in Haiti, for the Battle of Vertieres celebration, Martelly should have sent a “Delegation of Generals” made up of those FAdH officers still in Haiti – Lacrette, Duperval and even Prosper Avril.

Instead, King Martelly sends Queen Sophia, American citizen, to represent the Haitian government at the memorial by placing flowers there.

The Aristide/Lavalas people – who have already painted the memorial pink in an effort to make it seem that Martelly did this, are forming a committee to place flowers on the memorial…. Saying that no foreigner will be allowed this privilege. They make it clear that the see not only Queen Sophia Martelly, but also consider Michel Martelly and Laurent Lamothe foreigners.

Martelly has managed to take an 85% popularity, and vigorous support of the people, and turn it into 15% support (or less) and a vigorous opposition to his ongoing survival. This tendency can be corrected, but it will require a massive, and immediate effort to reverse the path to disaster for the Martelly government and the Nation.
