Even as families struggle to put food on the table, once every few days, we are entertained by the image of Senator Lambert buying a home above Petionville, for $900,000 US then charging it off at $13,000 per month. He will completely pay for the house in a year, with enough to buy himself, and a mistress a high line Mercedes SUV.

In parallel, we have another Senator stealing a generator from the Parliament, and asking people to burn the place down.

As intermission entertainment, we have a waltz with PNH Director General Gedeon that leads nowhere, even though he is personally responsible for the chaotic disaster two weeks ago when mobs, paid by some businessmen, destroyed important business enterprises.

He should have been suspended – fired immediately, perhaps arrested. Instead he will finally retire and move to his $1,000,000 home in Florida’s Coral Springs, where he has already installed his wife and children.

It looks as though Lambert, and his fellow criminals, plan to hold the Jovenel government, the Nation, you and me hostage.

We are trapped in a house of mirrors  generated by Democracy, a game in which 30 Haitians, many of them criminals, can block any sort of hope we may have.

The survival of any government – for the elective term – is a key to development. You cannot change the government on the same frequency as some change their underwear.

President Moise needs everyone’s help to make his term, our term, the nation’s term as successful as possible. It might not be 100% successful, but any percentage will leave a basis upon which the following government can build.

children hope 4

To suggest, and press for the failure of President Jovenel Moise simply convinced the International Community that there is no hope here. There will come a time – perhaps sooner than most expect, where Haiti is allowed to do anything it wants, without their aid or assistance.

Haiti is a Beggar State.

Without hand-outs a Beggar State must starve.

We are nearing the limit of the International Community’s patience. When things collapse, many visas may be canceled.

Perhaps a few dozen drug dealers will finally be arrested and exported to the States.

The children deserve better, but people with personal agendas may destroy everything for everyone – including themselves.
