Even as opposition elements endeavor to destroy what is left of our infrastructure, President Martelly sets out to generate the basis for an effective, well-coordinated transfer of power on February 7, 2016.

When the opposition elements demanded a commission to verify the voting process, Martelly gave them one. When they didn’t like its composition, Martelly changed some members. When the project ended, Rosny Desroches was the spokesman to the foreign media and was quoted as saying there was no bias towards any candidate and the error were errors of ineptitude, not dishonesty. The election staff had not been properly trained and was unskilled.

This set the stage for an election?

Wrong!!

Even as AP and AFP were transmitting their positive releases, Desroche went on a media campaign, appearing whenever, and wherever media people would listen. He was critical of every element involved in the electoral process. He took thing apart, paragraph, by paragraph, effectively derailing the concept.

President Martelly has snapped into action in an effort to see power transfer on February 7.

He, and his cabinet, are looking at some 40 Decrees to provide needed bandaids.

He is faced with a basically illegal and dysfunctional parliament.

Now is the time for the people to get behind their President as he does his best to carry the load as those who should assist, rebel.

We do not want to slide back into the Aristide/Preval environment. We will if we don’t support Michel Martelly now.

Look to the future, not the past.
