The Martelly government, not the Americans,  is bringing Aristide before a judge on Wednesday. Convicted cocaine trafficker Jacques Ketant implicated Aristide, in his earlier testimony, saying all cocaine traffic went through Aristide’s hands.

Ketant implicated 62 people and Martelly will call 8 of these before a judge on Wednesday. One of these is ex-President Jean-Bertrand Aristide. There are also hopes that Ira Kurzban, Aristide’s American attorney,  may be accused of money laundering.

Martelly must be suicidal since few debate his involvement with the cocaine business. Talk about focusing attention on oneself!

Rene Civil says that Family Lavalas will take to the streets, on Wednesday, in protest. This is a very critical action since, if there aren’t 30,000 or more protesters, if will mean that Lavalas is not a real player any more. A couple of thousand indicates that the demonstration is a paid project.

Martelly is about to become involved in what could be a death-struggle with Parliament. In order for them to accept Martelly’s choice for Prime Minister – Laurent Lamothe – Parliament says it  must have control of 51% of the cabinet so as to avoid another crisis.

And now, Lamothe shows a disinterest in accepting the Prime Minister’s slot. He probably realizes that, by doing so, he will go down with the Martelly ship – and his plans are more long-term.  He is not that keen on either Martelly, or Martelly’s wife Sophia and would not be willing to accept their dictates for long.

So Martelly still has a couple of other choices, previously announced, Thierry Mayard-Paul, detested by Parliament, nd a very young, inexperienced girl who is Sophia Martelly’s best friend. Not likely!

And Parliament has dropped another bomb, announced at 5PM. They will accept Martelly’s choice, only if Martelly  presents his passport.

If he does this, there will be some interesting details,  for those who know what to look for.  Anyone with an American passport must use this to depart and enter the United States. In other words, someone can depart Haiti with their Haitian passport but must present their American document to enter the States.

Martelly may find himself in a position where he cannot find a Prime Minister of cabinet as people move away from him.

This is a period of extreme crisis with no real solutions
