MARTELLY CELEBRATES NATIONAL FLAG DAY IN ARCAHAIE

May 18, 2011

On May 18, 1803 Jean-Jacques Dessaline created the Haitian flag by tearing the white portion from a French flag, symbolic of removing the white element from a land of Black and Mulatto people. Each year the Haitians celebrate their Flag Day with ceremonies around the country. The Haitian president celebrates each year at the birthplace of the national emblem.

In 2010 Preval celebrated by himself.

Recognizing the criminal acquisition of power, in 2006, by Preval, the  Diplomatic Corps has declined their invitations, over the past few years, saying this was a local event and did not involve them.

Today, the nation’s Diplomatic Corps has travelled to Archahaie with President Michel Martelly, to celebrate this important date.

There is a message here.

The International Community is behind Martelly’s government and wants it to succeed.

Good luck Michel Martelly.
