In a strange speech, Mirlande Manigat tells Haiti, and the world, that she is Left Wing.  She also referred to her husband’s long-term close ties with Venezuela. Ex-President Lesly Manigat lived in Venezuela for many years. During the brief 5 months of his presidency we saw uniformed Vebezuelan soldiers on the streets of Haiti, in violation of the Constitution.

Mirlande Manigat says she will ally her government with that of Chavez.

This speech was really not a constructive one since it effectively pits her philosophy against those of the United States and other friends of Haiti.

President Rene Preval has sought close ties with the Chavez regime and was lucky enough to have Chavez contribute hundreds of millions to the Petrocaribe Fund – from which Preval and his associates took $197,000,000.

  1. If it is really so, good luck to her!

    Even she is freed to work freely with what so ever system she would like to, but,I will never allow another Castrist system to take effect in the region any more.Preval is someone special.I am not going to explain why.

    But, iI don’t know.

    It’s like, Haiti has a “Curse” to be under sort of people ” Devil” who never wants the nation to be in good shape. Let’s what the future will bring.
