COMMENT:HAITIAN-TRUTH.ORG
Someone must use the sanctions of the Code Penal to stop the criminal comments so commonplace on Haitian media outlets.
Common practice, of the Haitian radio commentators equates to a situation in which “Someone shouts FIRE!!! In a crowded theater…” During the Carnival, a commentator on 104.9 interviewed Senator Moise Jean-Charles. The Senator said that Roro Nelson, and a member of senator Youri Latortue’s security, had killed a person, in front of President Martelly’s stand, at the Carnival, and injured many others with gunfire.
No one was killed.
No one was injured.
And 104.9 knew this but acts as a weapon for Moise Jean-Charles.. And then the commentator from 104.9 claims that he was assaulted by Martelly’s security. Come on guys! Let’s get real.
And Liliane is a record holder for criminal outbursts on her radio programs.
Roro Nelse was accused of a crime in Jacmel, when he wasn’t even in Jacmel!!!
Each station is required to keep tape recordings of their broadcasts. Martelly should create an office, within a ministry, to review complaints and prosecute whenever someone like Liliane crosses the line – which is often.
And, as a matter of interest, Senator Moise Jean-Charles was committing a crime, as he spoke to the 104.9 team. The constitution allows for the arrest – without immunity – of a Senator or Deputy caught in the act. Moise Jean-Charles should be arrested next time he opens his mouth to speak lies, which seems to be, every time he opens his mount.
As we have said, it isn’t a case of Freedom of the Press. Instead, it should be a case for Responsibility of the Press.
Unless someone really puts teeth in the laws we have, there is no hope.
As a Post Script: Have you ever seen anyone more ugly than Liliane??
Yes, Jean Dominique was killed on Aristide’s orders and Dominiques good friend, Rene Preval did nothing to stop it. He did ask Dominique’s wife, and his mistress, to stay home that morning since he had something to tell her. And so, Jean Dominique drove off to his death, while his wife. Michele Montas, stayed safe at home.
Her children know of this act and still don’t speak to her.
A real investigation will see both Aristide and Preval convicted. Unfortunately, in Haiti, nothing like this is possible.
Impunity rules the game, coupled to $$$
