The Jovenel Moise team has embarked on a series of whirlwind meetings around the Nation, speaking with tens of thousands, over the intervening days.
Even before the Aristide visit, Cap Haitian had said there was no need for campaigning: Jovenel was already President.
A vivid contrast to the disastrous chaos created by Moise Jean-Charles in Cap Haitian which disrupted the Aristide/Narcisse Lavalas campaign program. The turbulent setting was capped with the physical collapse of Aristide who fell into a coma from which he had not recovered. The following morning. At that time he was airlifted out of Cap Haitian in a medical helicopter the following day – still in a coma.
A doctor, present at the time, said Aristide is in grave condition.
It is hoped that the electoral process can be completed on October 9 with Jovenel gaining more than 50% making a run-off unnecessary.
This should have been the case in 2015 when Jovenel actually won on the first round. Unfortunately, the Martelly team did not have the guts to declare the truth, a truth that would have avoided the past year’s insecurity under the criminal control of Privert.
