JetBlue and Marriott Port-au-Prince Team Up to Give Back to Haiti

You’ve got to love a great partnership.

From now until August 29th, 2015, anyone planning on flying JetBlue to Port-au-Prince from Fort Lauderdale, Boston or JFK will be able to stay at Marriott Port-au-Prince for a fantastic flat rate of $125 per night — plus score a $1 per person breakfast. That’s a team-up where we all win.

But even better, JetBlue and Marriott have banded together with the Haitian nonprofit MUCI. They’ll donate to MUCI $23, the average cost consumers are saving through the deal; the organization sponsors reforestation efforts and fights poverty by planting one tree for every dollar donated.

And in fact, simply staying at the Marriott Port-au-Prince can have a major impact on the community’s economy. 96 percent of the hotel employees are Haitian and the property has enlisted 26 different local businesses to provide various goods and services.
