It’s about time that someone in the press openly criticize ToutHaiti for the libelous and slanderous (through ToutHaiti Radio) articles and comments it publishes. As a media company incorporated in the United States, it is bound by the same laws as other media outlets based in this country, namely responsible journalism. Often times, their reporters and contributors make serious accusations (e.g. alleged embezzlement of funds by Haiti’s first lady and son) without a shred of evidence. Of course, these accusations are political in nature because not once do they ever make accusations or bring up the Lavalas Priests past. What ever happened to fair and balanced reporting?

The Martelly government is certainly not perfect. The Martelly government has had its missteps. The Martelly government is operating under extraordinary circumstances and is doing the best it can to entice investors and other governments to invest in a country with institutionalized corruption.

The past 25 years have seen multiple Presidents come and go. Aristide had the opportunity to make the biggest positive impact on Haiti since Francois Duvalier. Like Duvalier, he squandered that opportunity by disseminating hateful messages and condoning violent and corrupt behavior.

Tout Haiti, the Haiti you claim to love would be better served if you presented your readership and the international community with stories that show the resilient, hard working nature of the Haitian people. Leave the rhetoric of the opposition to the opposition and do your job…report the news. Stop playing politics and start acting like credible journalists.

More importantly, start caring for your country and the millions who count on the Martelly government to succeed!

To Haitian Truth: Feel free to publish these comments on the front page of your site. I do not ask for remuneration, nor do I ask for credit. I just want everyone to see ToutHaiti for the journalistic hacks that they are.

  1. Chevrier is smack on.

I wish that I had written his article.

I met Jean-Junior Joseph when he was with Gerard Latortue and he was really someone who knew very little about anything. He was a loser then, and doesn’t seem to have improved.

The sort of lies Tout Haiti projects, along with Lilliane and Moise Jean-Charles are actually criminal acts under Haiti;s Code Penal. Why doesn’t someone arrest them to make a point?
