Haiti Tourism Minister Stephanie Villedrouin has returned to the country following a two-day official visit to Canada.

The visit included talks with Quebec City Mayor Regis Labeaume, Quebec Tourism Minister Pascale Berube and UNESCO Special Envoy for Haiti Mcihaelle Jean.

The two sides discussed issues including collaboration and training between the two countries on labeling tourist infrastructure, and the possibility of setting up a training mission from Quebec within Haiti.

Villedrouin also visited the Hotel School of Montreal, looking to develop a partnership that would mean support from EHM for specialized training of Haitian hospitality workers and the construction of a kitchen application for the new building of Haiti’s hotel school.

The Minister also took the opportunity to meet with Haitian representatives of various taxi drivers associations in Montreal to inform them of the holiday packages Haiti is offering in partnership with Canada’s Transat tour company.
