SMALL EARTHQUAKE SHAKES MOLE ST. NICHOLAS

At approximately 0300 hours a small earthquake shook Mole Saint Nicholas in Haiti’s northwest.

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) — The U.S. Geological Survey reports a light, magnitude-4.3 earthquake struck northwest Haiti.

The tremor shook the sea-floor 15 miles west of the coastal city of Gonaives around 2:01 a.m. Saturday. No damage or injuries have been reported.

Gonaives residents tell The Associated Press that many felt the quake but that buildings were not affected. The region was not significantly damaged by the Jan. 12 earthquake that devastated Haiti’s capital of Port-au-Prince.
