Residents of Tomasin, a suburb above Petionville, heard a short burst of gunfire this evening.

There was nothing to worry about.

It was just another Preval game to make the International Community believe that the situation in Haiti is so unstable as to preclude any thought of elections to replace him. He has not given up his basic goal to hold onto power beyond the end of his term, and Special Representative with MINUSTAH, Mulet is part of this ongoing charade.

Preval’s house received a few bullet holes. Less than 20 rounds were fired.

There are two goals of this tactic. The first is obvious – the derailing of the overall electoral process.

The second is more sinister. It will see his gang leaders kill Preval’s most powerful opponents and he will claim it is just a part of the instability.

The world must be aware of what Preval is doing.  He has used the same game in the past, usually attacking one of his close associate’s vehicle, having his hit-team shoot the car full of holes, missing his friend…but killing the chauffeur.

The green Honda, seen at tonight’s shoot-up – belongs to a Preval associate.

Preval was never in any danger.

But the Nation is!!!

Preval must go.

We must have a new and totally independent Electoral Council…one that is not headed by a Preval first cousin, or mistress.

Otherwise the elections will fail.
