Many Haitians lost leg and arms…sometimes both, to the January 12 quake which killed over 300,000 people. In a civilized country, the next step for those who have lost limbs is the measuring for, and fitting of a prosthesis to help the person cope with life.
A phony arm or leg is not the real thing, but life will improve with the addition. American servicemen who have lost limbs in Iraq or Afghanistan have the very best. I have seen videos of guys with prosthetic legs running marathons.
Following this line of reasoning, one would expect that the Haitians, treated by American manufacturers/suppliers of prosthetic devices would use some of the same concepts.

Yesterday, and orthopedic surgeon, who had amputated a mans leg below the knee, had a return visit from his patient who asked him to cut a few inches off what was left!! When the doctor asked why, his patient told him the suppliers of prosthetic devices had one size and the people had to cut off the extra parts in order to fit them!!!
These Americans have brought a bunch of devices – probably rejects – and are charging “and arm and a leg”…. I’m sorry for the pun…. To help these poor Haitians.
I have asked the surgeon for the names of these Americans and will post them here upon receipt.
Perhaps there is some sort of legal action that could be taken against them in the States.
This is a terrible thing!
I thought that this type of concept went out with Doctor Mengele and the Nazi experiments.
What are these people thinking?
Ar Haitians less than human so people can cut legs to fit, just like you cut the legs of a chair to get rid of the wobble?
The American authorities should investigate this type of activity. I am sure it violates American law. You couldn’t teat a dog this way without being arrested in the States.
