  1. now he got it with the same love we have for uhim with the same strengh we will kick him out if he does not keep his promisses.
Congratulation tonight, haiti will start a new day a new begining not with lie not with no such men calling himself le messie. non not an intelectuel with all the diplomas in the world, but a worker, a manmfather of 4 children to who his duties never stop, an example of family,a man who could have left his country, but chosed to stay in the poor land with all the latest plagues that have fallen on it. we are waiting for that change,we are waiting for your call to return home to invest our strengh and gains from the outside. we are waiting for you, we need no more talking, now show us actions.
once again congratulation to all haitians who truely love their country.

  2. Yes, for all his promises, some are more important to him and his mystery backers. A person with little education campaigning for education is a joke befitting a konpa clown. His fraudulent election does not bode well for his presidency and the huge abstention rate cannot be simply dismissed.
His American backers and neo-Duvalierists will dictate what they want out of him. Either he and his friends quickly bring about a change that can be felt by the very poor and destitute (no trickledown policies benefitting the rich) or there will be a general uprising. Any attempt to reinstitute the old oppressive Haitian Army will be vigorously resisted by Lavalas and others. Let us hope Sweet Mickey will quickly get an education and rise above simply enriching himself before he is inevitably ousted. If the desire is to crush Lavalas, do it by bettering people’s lives and that means not vying for Sweatshopistan but building infrastructure and favoring agriculture, Haiti’s only way for a better life for the majority. Many people hate Aristide but he is still viewed by so many poor Haitians as the only politician who SEEMED to care anything about them. Now is the time to get going. That will not be achieved by concentrating on just security in the guise of a new Army. The poor need security from destitution, and they are the overwhelming majority. If the clown Prezidan turns out to be a statesman, great, Otherwise, he will be turfed out and probably replaced by Aristide or clone of his, despite whatever the US might try and do. And all this before he even finishes his term which, unfortunately, is more in keeping with the Haitian tradition.

    1. Any Army in Haiti would provide something other that security- It provides a nation with Pride and JOBS!!!! To heck with this side and that side- Duvalier and Lavalas- It is all BS, as we are all Haitians first-

  3. Haiti needs no army. Look at Costa Rica. They abolished the Army in 1948 and have been better off since. A real Haitian Constabulary Force could be set up for security reasons but no parasitic Haitian Army. Hitler solved Germany’s unemployment rate by reviving the Wehrmacht but I guess that didn’t work out. Do you want to give Haitians pride and jobs? Start by slapping on hefty tariffs on Clinton’s rice farmers’ rice imports. That will give jobs to FAR more people than a lousy army. A nation with the ability to feed itself is more worthy of pride than a nation unable to feed itself but with a parasitic, do-nothing army.

    1. because he is obsessed with anything that makes titide look like anything other than a monster

  4. Just so you know a few simple facts about Hitler, since a few of you Haitians seem to keep bringing it up.

Hitler re-instated the Wermacht from his ranks of Brown-shirts. His Brown-shirts were a private security force, paid for and facilitated directly by the Royal Family of Great Britain. Queen Victoria sent Prince Charles-Edward to be the Duke of Saxe-Coburg before WWI, and he served in the German military as a British royal. After the end of WWI, he was stripped of his Royal status and remained in Germany, and in his time there in office, he was given the task of finding the next Chancellor of Germany and leader of the Third Reich. He chose Hitler. The Queen put her full support into Hitler becoming the next Chancellor of Germany. The IBC set up a branch of it’s banking in Paris, and the Germans funneled the money and gold confiscated from Poland through US banks based in France, right into the British banking system and stock market.

Prince Charles Edward was the person that was in charge of the euthenization program that led to the mass execution of Jews. Hitler ordered the murder over 7 million Jews, not to mention the tens of millions of others killed as a result of the war. SS Officer’s in charge of the death squads and concentration camps reported directly to Charles Edward, at that point, President of the German Red Cross, with his 3 German born sons serving in the German Army.

HOW IN THE HELL DOES HITLER COMPARE TO ANY OF THESE SMALL TIME PISS ANT TYRANTS IN HAITI’S RECENT PAST????

  5. The Wehrmacht was formed from the Reichswehr, not the Sturmabteilung. After the night of the Long Knives, the SA (Strumabteilung) was largely suppressed though it did continue in a minor guise until 1945. The Versailles Treaty limited the German forces to 100,000 men. Obviously, after 1935, this was flagrantly flouted and the numbers of the Wehrmacht were greatly increased which, coincidentally, helped the moribund German economy. So Mr History Buff, you will have to check that out for yourself. However, your note about the SA is easily refutable.

Elizar D seems to think I compare everyone to Hitler. Hitler is a well-known authoritarian figure whose regime is familiar to most people in the world. The DNA of most dictatorships is strikingly similar. Absolute power, suppression of human rights in a brutal fashion, setting up security apparatuses to keep the general population down, etc.

I could compare the Divalye (Duvalier in French) regimes to many dictatorships, especially tinpot dictatorships such as the clique running benighted Equatprial Guinea or Ne Win or Mugabe or Mobutu. Sometimes there are aspects that coincide with the dictatorships of Antonescu, Salazar, Franco, Somoza, Trujillo. However, these are not known very well to most people, hence my comparison of some aspects of totalitarianism to the paragon of totalitarianism: National Socialism.

I have no obsession to make Titid look great but he is no monster. A flawed character who speaks beautiful Kreyol but inept at conducting politics and not a good leader at organizing things. Papa Doc was a monster and Baby Doc, well, he was there for the ride fhat Papa set up for him. What I don’t like is revision of history and saying that Divalye was not too bad for the progress of Ayiti IS a fallacy that must be answered.

Incidentally, Ezilidanto has written a piece on Martelly. It would seem that she is resigned to what he might do as Haiti is now lawless. What do you people think?
