Mirlande Manigat changes her mind – again – as she warns the nation of Preval’s plot to create pre-elections disturbances to derail the process and place Jude Celestin in power.
The original plot – supported by false popularity polls, coordinated by Reginal Boulos, President of Haiti’s Chamber of Commerce, to derail the sweep of popular candidate Jean-Henry Ceant, saw a run-off situation created in which the two survivors would be Charlito Baker and Mirlande Manigat.
If you remember – and most have probably already forgotten – Preval invited all of the presidential candidate to meet him, one-on-one. Ceant said he would only meet Preval in company with the other 18 candidate. Baker said he would meet, but he would tell the world what was discussed. He met Preval and now refuses to say anything.
Manigat met with Preval and also has remained mute.
Preval promised them the run-off and each could see a win and a presidency!
He promised Manigat something more than Baker. Realizing he could not control Baker Preval promised complete support for Manigat – by his UNITE group. He also gave her something over $3,000,000, an armored SUV and some palace security staff.
The election would be held.
Celestin would be wiped out, indicating a really fair election, and Manigat would win the run-off, controlled by Preval who would be king of the Parliament and Cabinet. Preval realized that Manigat – like her husband before her – has very little popular support with Haiti’s vast majority. She is the darling of Haiti’s business class.
Manigat has realized – too late – that she sold her integrity for 30 pieces of silver – betraying her Nation.
Now Manigat reveals a plan that will see Preval create a disruption the day before the elections, and then follow-up by giving Celestin the presidency.
Preval controls the CEP.
Preval, through Boulos – has created a false poll that shows Manigat/Baker as the leading candidates – while relegating CEANT – the man who actually controls about 42 % of a real poll – to a position lower than dog-catcher.
