BALTIMORE — A local church is still sending help to those affected by the earthquakes in Haiti. The Empowerment Temple wanted to send 5,000 pairs of shoes to Haiti, but by the time they were packing the truck, the group said it had tripled that amount. The group said it loaded up 15,000 pairs of shoes that will first go to Alabama, where they’ll then be shipped to Haiti. One family said they wanted to help after they experienced devastation from Hurricane Katrina and knew firsthand what it was like to be in need. The Loring family said they drove 21 hours from Louisiana to donate their tractor-trailer for the cause.
I hope they tie the shoes together.
There is no greater puzzle than that posed by a container of single shoes that must be matched!!
I have lived through this and always had a few singles left over.
