Signal FM 0730: Colonel Himmler Rebu, ex-presidential candidate,  challenges Michel Martelly.  Rebu said the Sweet Mickey should drink some rum and go away, allowing Michel Martelly a chance to save the nation.

He urged Sophie, Martelly’s wife, to think of the children who have been promised a great deal, by Michel Martelly, and now face the possibility of ZERO!  He said she has a responsibility.

Rebu also voiced a valid criticism of Martelly’s reaction to the attempt on his life, in Cap Haitian. Martelly said that he had seen worse in Carnival, which might be true, but in Carnival the violence would have been directed at SWEET MICKEY – not PRESIDENT MICHEL MARTELLY.

This was not an attack on a musician it was an attack on the Nation, an attack on the Presidency!!!  Martelly has certain obligations to respect and protect the Nation from instability and the Presidency from abuse.

Otherwise, he is just another bum in a Carnival brawl, ready to drop his pants and bare his ass.

Rebu also urged Martelly to release those who were arrested as a result of the attack. There is some sense in this since reports, from Cap Haitian, even as the attack was happening, told us that those responsible had already escaped “over the bridge” before the arrests started.  In other words, the true attackers, including the guy with an assault rifle, had already left the scene.

Rebu said that, if Martelly did not do this, releasing those arrested, he would lose his political credibility. In other words, many know the truth and inaction will be damaging.

And, Martelly promised two things, during his campaign: Security and School for the Children.  It looks like he cannot deliver either on and, more importantly, really isn’t making a serious effort as he wanders around the country  working a being busy, being busy so he won’t be bothered with real decisions about real problems.

Now he is faced with a new problem: Children are taking to the streets to demand he deliver on his promise of schooling. These manifestation will grow in size as an effective element to attack Martelly and his incompetent advisers who have encapsulated Martelly behind their protective, jealous circle, blocking access  those who could help him, and by helping Martelly – save the Nation.

These Children’s Marches could become a devastating political weapon.

Who, in his right mind, could order a police action to disperse a herd of small, medium and large children, demanding delivery of President Martelly’s basic electoral promise?

Someone once said: “Suffer little children to come onto me.” Martelly might take a lesson here, from a leader who knew what he was doing.

Even then, He was crucified.

Martelly is about to be crucified for doing nothing.
