C’est pitoyable de voir que c’est seulement maintenant que certains journalistes étatsuniens commencent à comprendre le rôle primordial que joue le US Embassy dans les affaires internes Haïti……..

If you take a moment to look, they have countless skeletons in the closet

I know first hand how the US Embassy in Haiti operates. The pressures on certain Key members of the Senate, were tremendous after the coup of September 1991, but more so when Bill Clinton decided he was going to return Aristide to Power in October 1994.

In here they talk about Former US Ambassador Janet Sanderson trying to block the Petro Caribe deal ! Must see video.

The comment preceding the article is ingenuous to say the the least. One can also say that he is simply uninformed. I recommend you watch the following videos.
They are lenghty, interesting and enlightening.
You decide whether his statements coincide with the facts or not.

  1. Unfortunately Kim Ives and Dan Coughlan have an agenda that is out of step with reality.

I would like to see the leaked cables in their entirety so I could form my own opinion.

Having someone like Kim Ives analyze these is not helpful.

After all, this person had tens of thousands, greeting Aristide, on his return to Haiti, when there were about 100 media people, 100 airport workers and a dozen Aristide people.

I think Ambassador Sanderson was an idiot, but I would like to avoid the opinions of Ives and Coughlan.

  2. I find Ives and Coughlan to be very interesting and highly informed. I am willing to read all opinions whether they are held by leftists or rightists. Unfortunately for right-wingers, they seem to be less informed generally speaking. All forces have lemore t Haiti down. Certainly the insane right and certainly the so called left, theoretical champions of the poor but often dedicated to feathering their own nests. Neither Duvalier nor Aristide brought Haiti what it needs. The US treats Haiti as a mere pawn in a great geopolitical chess game and has been he’ll bent on keeping Hsiti down.
Nope, neither the Left nor the Right do much for Haiti. That is why Noam Chomsky, Peter Hallward are worth a read just as Stanley Lucas is. In the meantime, no one has a real solution to Haiti’s tragic poverty beyond a lurch towards sweatshop economics which will ultimately fail. The solution is to return to agriculture, I.e. stop Arkansas rice imports, put in real infrastructure (roads, bridges, real schools), and demote French in favour of Krèyol. Is this being done? Will this be done? If the answer is no, than all of Martelly’s horses and all of Martelly’s men will never really put Haiti back together again.
