PASTOR WALLACE TURNBULL ASKS A QUESTION, THAT DESERVES AN ANSWER

Hi, folks,

We have a problem: Haiti’s grading of rheto & philo students needs to be standardized, to avoid confusion upon application for university acceptance. For example: With great effort & expense, we went to Haiti and by triage and TOEFL test chose two applicants for scholarship. One was accepted by the university, and one was refused.

One had passed in each subject. The other had excellent marks in some subjects, and flunked in others. BUT they had the same average / moyenne, so both had their certificate of Philo.

We have two friends who have been Minister of Education – Alexis and Desroches. Can such persons perhaps help to effect a better grading system? Whom should we approach? We are giving an example of only one sample case to expose the problem.

Many people must run into such confusion.

Yours, Wallace.
