Assassinate – to murder (a usually prominent person) by sudden or secret attack often for political reasons.

Some have suggested that people in Martelly’s circle applied pressure to the judge.  That is probably true since someone always tries to put pressure on judges in any and all cases in Haiti.

The judge had some serious medical problems, including a chronic high blood pressure.  He had already undergone heart surgery in Canada on a previous occasion. This can cause a heart attack of stroke.

Judge Jean Serge Joseph had a stroke and died. He was not assassinated.

The judge seems to have been a Canadian citizen, which complicates the entire game.

Clifford Brandt had a chronic high blood pressure: Clifford Brandt had a stroke and subsequently died.

He was not assassinated. He simply died of physical complications.

It is an embarrassment, for Haiti as a Nation, to have the media in the form of Lilliane Pierre-Paul, Valery Numa, Marie Luce Bonhomme and a host of others, refer to the unfortunate, natural death of Judge

Jean Serge Joseph as an assassination. And it is additionally embarrassing to the Haitian people when they refer to assassination, the American doctor, and the Bernard Mevs Hospital in the same breath as assassination.

Mind you, Haiti has had its share of assassinations, that stand out from the hundreds of murders carried out by Aristide, Preval and their Lavalas team-mates.

I can remember when Mireille Durocher-Bertin was stalked by Aristide associates and gunned down: Mireille Durocher-Bertin was assassinated.

Sylvio Claude was surrounded, abused, then necklaced in Les Cayes on September 29, 1991: Sylvio Claude was assassinated.

I can remember September 29, 1991 when Aristide ordered Captain Stagn Doura to shoot Dr. Roger Lafontant in his jail cell: Roger Lafontant was assassinated on Aristide’s orders.

I can remember Florvil and his associate when they were gunned down: They were assassinated on Aristide’s orders.

I can remember when the French Consul Paul-Henri Mourralwas killed by Amaral Duclona, on the orders of Aristide, Preval and Jude Celestin: Paul-Henri Mourral was assassinated.

I can remember when Father Jean-Marie Vincent told Aristide that he should step down and let Lavalas prepare a new candidate for the presidency – Jean-Marie Vincent was assassinated.

I can remember when Antoine Izmery suggested he was changing his support from Aristide to another candidate: He was  assassinated.

I can remember when Pere Ti Jean confronted Aristide about his approach to governing Lavalas: Ti Jean was assassinated within 2 hours of the meeting.

I can remember when General Max Mayard was attacked by several killers: Max Mayard was assassinated by Aristide’s order.

We all remember the day when Jean Dominque was gunned down on Aristide’s orders: Dominique was assassinated.

I can remember when the  Judge who was handling the dossier for the St Marc Massacre was killed: He was  assassinated.

Then there were dozens and dozens of people Aristide simply had murdered in deaths that do not meet the requirements of assassination, even though the victims are just as dead.  This description fits the murder to Robert Moreno by Amaral Duclona, on orders of Rene Preval and Jude Celestin. Just a simple murder for greed, not an assassination.

I am sure that pressure was applied. After all, this is Haiti where pressure and cash are tools of the trade.

Our media is often bought and paid for, if not “always ” to apply pressure on certain subjects.

Some media people will write bad things  about the government  (sometimes true) in expectation of being paid to stop. It often works.

There are comments about “ Freedom of the Press.”  What Haiti requires is “Responsibility of the Press” but this is not a likely situation when one sees the people involved led by that paragon of virtue Lilliane Pierre-Paul. She is a whore for cash, not the sexual element which is too terrible to contemplate.

Marie Luce Bonhomme used to have a balanced approach. However, since her boss Leopold Berlanger, owner of Vision 2000, became a CEP member and Presidential Hopeful, she has become another whore.

Sad, since I can remember when she did a daring interview with the lady who assisted with the kidnap, of a newborn baby, from the General Hospital, and its subsequent sacrifice in a Satanic Ceremony at Aristide’s Tabarre residence, during the first week of March 2000, in his sick effort to influence that year’s elections. He didn’t need the baby since he simply stole the ballot and became president again.

Haiti has been – yet again – badly served by its media.

It isn’t about freedom of the press.

It is about responsibility of the press.

When the Truth finally seeps out the press will not have any embarrassment at all since they will have already switched their focus onto some other lie.

The Martelly/Lamothe government, and the people of Haiti deserve better.

Unfortunately, they will have to live with this warped and prostituted segment of society, THE MEDIA supporting, and being supported by a really flawed Parliament.

Once again, the faceless people of Haiti lose another battle. Many small children will die a simple and slow death via starvation,  and quick deaths via cholera, directly, and indirectly due to peripheral problems created by the media’s dishonesty and the corrupt indifference of our elected representatives who march to their own selfish agendas.

This isn’t assassination.

Under the law of the land it doesn’t constitute murder.

The Martelly/Lamothe government is doing its best to fight for the Nation. It is time for all segments to pull together and help the country survive and move ahead.

I am not optimistic.
