Haiti - Economy : 250,000 barrels of gasoline arrived in Haiti

Fils Aimé Ignace Saint-Fleur the Director General of the Monetary Office of Development Assistance Programs (BMPAD) confirmed the arrival on Friday at the Thor terminal at Carrefour, of a anker loaded with 250,000 barrels of gasoline specifying “[…] this tanker is part of regular orders placed by BMPAD on behalf of local oil companies.”

Saint-Fleur said fuel distribution at service stations will begin as early as Saturday, insisting that there is no fuel shortage in the country, even though in many places petrol stations have no more fuel to sell… and a gallon of gas is sold on the black market 600 Gourdes..

Moreover, contrary to what Jude Alix Patrick Salomon, Minister of the Economy and Finance had recently declared on a radio station in the capital, saying that the Government was considering a new “price adjustment” for petroleum products. according to the evolution of the costs on the world market as provided in the law  the Director General of BMPAD ensures that “no revision of fuel prices at the pump is envisaged at the moment…” still need to know what means “for the moment…” to estimate the respite…
