ARISTIDE INDICTMENT NEAR AS SEALED FILES ABOUT TO BE OPENED.

Patrick Joseph, former chief of Haiti’s TELECO did not give evidence, during his cooperation with U.S. authorities in the recent TELECO bribery trail.

His cooperation was basically limited to reading existing dossiers, compiled by the American investigators, and supplying confirmation of the details contained in these files.  Before entering custody, Joseph told friends that the Americans had everything…”Its all there. They have Aristide, they have him completely.” Joseph said.

Shortly after Patrick Joseph agreed to testify his father, ex-Governor of Haiti’s Central Bank, was shot an killed. The TELECO fraud was only possible with the father and son’s involvement in TELECO and the Central Bank. Between them, they had all of the evidence required to indict and convict Aristide.

Cynics believe that the senior Joseph was killed, on Aristide’s orders, in order to send a message. Others suggest he was killed by people who wanted to embarrass Aristide.

In Haiti there are no simple answers.

One fact remains. The Americans have accumulated enough evidence to indict and convict Aristide, on numerous charges.

The question remains. Do they have the guts to do this? And, if they do, will Martelly allow this action to proceed. More cynics believe that Aristide has already paid Martelly in order to prevent this.

Time will tell.

  3. Both of you guys are ignorant. Dexuma for claiming Martelly is a drug dealer with absolutely ZERO evidence to back up the claim and Preuss for basically being an ape and telling Dexuma “Well said”, when the comment was obviously made by a moron.

    1. Jean Robert Chevrier- May I suggest that you read the news articles here that provide the evidence that you might be wanting Dexuma to provide. Martelly was known to have a drug problem- he is a cocaine addict , supposedly in recovery. It is also common knowledge that he has, in his inner circle of associates, known cocaine dealers. Perhaps somebody knows something that you do not?
      I think the biggest problem with the Haitian Diaspora is the rampant arrogance, and quickness to throw insults.

      May I suggest that you both take into consideration that there is possibly more than meets the eye in Politics in Haiti.
