The situation in Haiti continues to deteriorate, with increased violence between armed gangs and law enforcement. Although the use of kamikaze drones is not mentioned in available sources, gangs, such as the one led by Jimmy “Barbecue” Chérizier, control much of Port-au-Prince and use sophisticated weaponry, often superior to that of the police. Residents live in constant fear of surprise attacks, worsening the atmosphere of chaos and insecurity. The Dominican Republic has recently stepped up its security measures in response to the Haitian crisis.
