TORRENTIAL RAIN FLOODS 2 YEAR OLD TENT CAMPS

April 24, 2012

It is 11 P.M. and torrential rain is sweeping the Port-au-Prince area. Already street are flowing with deep water that washes large boulders with it as it rushes down the hillsides. Cars and trucks plow through this fast-moving sea of water. Many have been trapped as their engines drowned.

Low lying tent camps have been turned into lakes, with people’s possessions floating along with accumulated garbage.  Little has been done to alleviate the suffering of tens of thousands who still huddle beneath shelters made of tarps, distributed by USAID, and other groups… lettering now faded to indicate which charity could claim credit.

The cholera season is upon us, created by MINUSTAH personnel who brought this scourge from Nepal.

The ONGs are thriving. MINUSTAH is a cash cow for the United Nations. Martelly’s inner circle is stealing whatever they can and the people get nothing.
