Rene Preval has irritated so many Haitians, with his open and obvious grab for dictatorial power that a collection of widely diverse groups will stage a major demonstration against President Preval and his band of criminals.
Preval has managed to initiate a State Of Siege that gives him absolute power, if one reads the declaration. In effect, it also bars all sorts of street demonstrations so it will be interesting to see how his Protector, Special Representative Edmond Mulet, and his MINUSTAH soldiers react to a lawful demonstration, by Haitians, against an illegal government.
Even Guy Philippe, that legendary will o’ the wisp character, Haiti’s Scarlet Pimpernel, will be a participant.
Some of those involved expect violence, burning tires, burning cars, broken windshield….and MINUSTAH troops, yet again, firing upon those they were sent to protect.
It will be interesting to see how this develops
