I have topped this article with one of my favorite photos from the October, 2004 Clinton Invasion of Haiti with 23,000 troops.

It shows the reality/unreality of things Haitian. Journalists taking photos of American troops preparing for the worst. All of this photographed by another – showing the truth – NO TRUTH AT ALL!!

There is a reported influx of major journalists – dozens of them – and this never happens unless they have been warned – usually by the State Department – about a major event.

We have two possibilities:

The first involves a boat the Manzanares, with 164 tons of cocaine, grabbed in April and only really mentioned, in yesterday’s Haiti Observateur.

Perhaps they are going to have a major DEA round-up of drug-dealers.

The other possibility is the collapse of Martelly’s government and installation of a Transitional Government to coordinate the presently flawed process. The embassy has been discussing this with General Herard Abraham, Mario Andresol and other mentioned as possibilities.

Perhaps 1 and 2 could serve the same purpose in different ways. As the Haitians are prone to say – “Wait and see.”

The coming days will be pivotal for the future of Haiti.

  1. Arnel Belizaire continues to generate protests that are very effective.

    Today will see another Belizaire protest, with another tomorrow.

    If the crowd continues to increase, we will be accelerating towards a melt-down of the Martelly government.

    We are hoping for a smooth transition to some sort of authority that will oversee truly free-and-fair-elections.

    Martelly still attempts to muddy the waters.

    History will retain a bad memory of the Martelly fiasco.

    He will be remembered as an egocentric spoiler, rather than the real bridge to Democracy.

    Martelly has destroyed his Legacy.

    In doing so he has damaged himself, and the Nation.
